Description HANNIBAL, MO - The Tom Sawyer contestants pose in front of the Tom Sawyer railroad car, part of the Mark Twain Zephyr. A car of the train is named for each of the three main characters of the book "The Adventure of Tom Sawyer." The contestants, order unknown, are Junior Musson (Ft. Madison, IA), Bob Samuelson (Ft. Madison, IA), Wayne Priebe (Canton, MO), Thomas Moore (Canton, MO), Lewis Hewitt (Clarksville, MO), Russell Mathes (Elsberry , MO), Danny Kane (Keokuk, IA), George Rogers (Keokuk, IA), Charles Flick (Hannibal, MO), Jack Meyer (Hannibal, MO), and Edgar Denniston (Burlington, IA). Milton Duvall, Jr. (Clarksville, MO), the winner of the contest, is located in the front row, right end. Technically, the two Hannibal entrants, Jack Meyer and Charles Flick, do not compete in the contest per se but act as ambassadors for the event.
