FRIENDS OF THE HANNIBAL FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY

Board Meeting:  April 9, 2014, 10:00 a.m.

 

Present:  President Katie Wright, Vice-President Virginia Mulhern , and Secretary/Treasurer Hallie Yundt Silver

 

Friends President Katie Wright called the Friends Board Meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.

 

A card was signed to be sent to Carol Bridgeman .

 

Moved by Virginia Mulhern and supported by Katie Wright to approve the Minutes of previous Friends Board meeting on October 17, 2013.  Motion carried.

 

Hallie Yundt Silver provided the Membership Report.  Four new Friends joined recently.

 

Hallie Yundt Silver provided the Financial Report.  She reported the savings account balance at $619.78.

 

The Librarians Report included the following topics:

·         Thank you to the Friends for their help with the Book Lover’s Sale in February.

·         The Library Tea was rescheduled to May 3rd at 2:30 p.m.

·         Egg Hunt on April 5th was a success.  About 100 young children participated.  Photos are posted on the Library’s website.

·         Ralls County Library Board is considering its contract with Hannibal Free Public Library Board.  Both boards will meet here on Monday, April 14th, in closed session.

·         Books were plated in Mr. & Mrs. Hagood’s memory from the Friends from the collection.  Titles include:  1. Steamboat Bertrand and Missouri River Commerce by Switzer 2. Incident at Otterville Station

 

Moved by Virginia Mulhern and supported by Katie Wright to participate in the Summer 2014 Kickoff in the Park through a fundraiser sale of refreshments.  Discussion followed, setting the price of a bottle of water at $.50, a bag of chips at $.50, and a can of soda at $1.00.  Motion carried.

 

Moved by Hallie Yundt Silver and supported by Virginia Mulhern to purchase a $25 gift card for Molly Green in honor of the birth of her daughter.  Motion carried.

 

Moved by Hallie Yundt Silver and supported by Virginia Mulhern to complete HNB National Bank’s resolution naming Katie Wright, Virginia Mulhern , and Hallie Yundt Silver as agents of the Friends and granting them the power of making savings deposits or withdrawals with one signature required.  Motion carried.

 

Virginia Mulhern inquired about the sale of Friends greeting cards.  Hallie Yundt Silver reported that they were still being offered for sale, but no one had purchased any recently.

 

Moved by Hallie Yundt Silver and supported by Katie Wright to adjourn.  Meeting adjourned at 11:40 a.m.
